SEO Case Studies: A Library of Results

While my SEO Portfolio highlights my primary philosophy and career-defining projects, this page serves as an index of specific problems I helped solve with SEO. These snapshots demonstrate the recurring patterns of success I’ve established over 22 years.

Technical & Indexing Wins

Sometimes the biggest growth comes from fixing what is broken.

  • The "Invisible" Site (Anonymous): Fixed a JavaScript rendering issue for a regional service provider that was preventing 90% of their pages from being indexed. Result: 40% increase in organic traffic within 30 days.
  • Crawl Budget Optimization: Streamlined the site architecture for a large-scale directory, reducing "wasted" crawls by 60%. Result: Critical landing pages began ranking 50% faster.
  • Core Web Vitals Cleanup: Resolved Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) issues for a cruise line site. Result: Secured a "Green" health score and a lift in mobile rankings.

Strategy & Content Growth

Moving beyond keywords to capture actual user intent.

  • Case Study - Career Training Website: Shifted from "Course Titles" to "Concept Clusters." Result: 450%+ increase in enrollment conversions.
  • The "Zero-Click" Capture (Fintech): Optimized FAQ sections for Answer Engine Optimization (AEO). Result: Secured "Position Zero" (Featured Snippets) for 15 high-volume industry terms.
  • Local SEO Dominance (California): Handled the GMB (Google My Business) and local landing page strategy for a chain restaurant located in California and the southwest. Result: 3x increase in "Click-to-Call" actions from search results.

Modern Search & GEO (AI/LLM)

Preparing sites for the era of AI Overviews and ChatGPT.

  • SaaS Citation Growth: Structured technical documentation to be easily "read" by Large Language Models. Result: Client began appearing as a primary citation in Perplexity and ChatGPT search queries.
  • E-commerce AI Overview Strategy: Optimized product descriptions for "attribute-based" search. Result: 25% increase in visibility within Google's AI-generated shopping summaries.

Don't See Your Industry Listed?

In 22 years, I have worked across many different verticals. Here's a partial list of the verticals I've worked in:

Vertical

My Experience

Retail

For a national clothing chain, I developed comprehensive recommendations to improve site architecture compliance with SEO best practices and built ranks for products and brand landing pages.

Insurance

For an international insurance company, I built out content to go after "position zero" queries. First there was keyword research - identifying queries on their target keywords that had questions, such as "what is", 'how do I" , what if, etc.

Next, we'd review their content to see if they had articles that addressed these questions. I'd also review the competitors' articles and find out if competitors had information they didn't, and if so, add it in.

Finally, we'd optimize the page as much as we could based on what we knew Google liked for position zero. This included things like headers, using graphics, including bulleted lists, and also using schema. All of the Allstate pages were updated to include relevant schema like ARTICLE, etc.

So if you search for "Am I covered if my friend wrecks my motorcycle", this company is going to be near the top.

Cruise Ship Line

In addition to revising and reorganizing content for better search engine visibility, I worked with the development team to explain how Google measured site speed and how to increase CWV scores.

International Tax Law

Helped this nationally known site build visibility around its tax service product offerings.

Active Footwear

I Looked for SEO opportunities and explored different ways to build out their content. They had a large number of brands, for example, their "Hiking Boots" were split into light, moderate and rugged trails. I would search for new keywords and make a business case to build new content around these keywords. For example, a lot of people would search for "Hiking boot size seven", or "Hiking boots size eight". And so from here we'd build a page that would indicate how much search volume they'd be likely to get if they built new Hiking Boot pages based on sizes.

Based on the strength of the business case and the availability of merchandise, they would build out new pages for specific subjects, such as Goretex, Cushioning, Wearability, Size, Color, etc.

Online Gun Auctions

Planned and built their natural search program and helped their brand become the most popular online auction site for firearms.

Regional Restaurant Chain

Designed and supervised their local search program, worked with Google My Business / Google Business Profile page to consolidate daily informational feeds and keep local store information accurate and up to date.

National Hotel Chain

Local search optimization for relevant terms like "hotels near me"

Women's Fashion

E-commerce retail organization and content creation to support their position as fashion industry leader and innovator.
